I pulled off here on my way back from Pennsylvania a few weekends ago. Signs like these dot the roads, with little bits of trivia and history. But I was most taken with the mountains...even with the drizzle and the generally craptastic weather, they're just beautiful.
With my job there are certain seasonal variables that lend themselves towards difficulties...often the easiest conclusion to draw is "oh, yes... working with artistic-types would be a real challenge." But as often as not my frustrations aren't with singers, but with corporations...folks who don't quite get what we do, or who hope to make a deal or substitution that is less expensive and more convenient for them. I can't blame them, really...but yesterday was about drawing the line in a forceful way. It's not my usual M.O., but I guess I can be gruff when I need to be. And in similar (and equally boring) news, today is shaping up to be long...workout, meetings, lunch (yay, lunch!), a meeting with a local student, and an evening meeting that's pretty important. Oh, for the days that I skipped meetings! It seems like a long time ago. But I'm hopeful that it'll be a fun, interesting, keep-me-on-my-toes kind of day.
Actually, I have no doubt that the day will be, at the very least, an interesting, keep-me-on-my-toes kind of day. But I'm hoping hoping hoping for the "fun" part!
- Pretty things.
- Views that make me remember.
